A closer look at the side of yesterdays corrugated iron house. Not far from the ‘field of yellow‘ I spotted this house completely covered in corrugated iron. I love all the shapes and colours of the differently aged iron. Near Monegetta, north of Sunbury.

This is our lovely dog Maggie. I have shown her before here when she was just a puppy, and here, a shot of one ‘wet dog‘. Today ‘Hot dog’. We are currently going through a record breaking heat wave here in Melbourne with several days in the 40′s (degrees Celsius). Yesterdays max was 44.3 degrees C (or roughly 111 degrees fahrenheit). It is going to be something similar today. Maggie decided the best way to keep cool was to sleep with her head on a block of ice I had put out for her. She also, as you can see, took the occassional lick whilst resting!

This three dimensional dome is located down on the river bank close to Crown casino. It displays the Beijing Olympics on a big screen. You can also go inside and send your favourite athlete a hero message.

I’ve shown my dog Maggie before here when she was just a puppy, but now she is six months old. This was taken just after bath time. Maggie is a mini Groodle (Golden Retriever crossed with a miniature poodle).
This photo has been used in a Febreze commercial in America!

This seagull found itself ‘in a hole’ when it rested on a cricket pitch in Williamstown recently. It is actually sitting in a spot designed to take the cricket stumps!

The Sea Shepherd Conversation Society has renamed one of it’s vessels the “Steve Irwin” after the great environmentalist and family man who also ran the Australia Zoo. It has been docked in Melbourne over the last couple of weeks, whilst it refuelled during a break from it’s crusade against whaling, particularly by the Japanese. More on there current fight can be found at the ABC site here. Donations to the society can be made here, more information about it’s whaling cause can be found here.

Ever wonder how they change the light globes on the Westgate Bridge? Well now you know. They say a change is as good as a holiday, but I don’t think it would be terribly relaxing up one of these cranes!

Our new lovely mini groodle, Maggie. She is a mini poodle crossed with a golden retriever. She makes for a wonderful companion for our Schnoodle (schnauzer cross poodle) Molly, and retriever cross Billy. Here, she is just 8 weeks old.

Not you standard job! ……….. Replacing the advertising signs above the Western Highway in Deer Park yesterday afternoon.
PS : Did anyone notice something peculiar about this photo? The guy on the left is not real. I assume it is going to be an advertisement for workplace safety… !
