"Bourke Street Mall" Saturday 8th December 2007 |
"Dome" Tuesday 4th December 2007 |
Christmas decorations over the Bourke street Mall. The building shown is the Melbourne GPO, which you can also see here and also here. |
The ever busy Bourke Street Mall runs through the centre of Melbourne. At the moment it hosts the lovely Christmas windows of Myers. The theme for the windows this year is "Uno's Garden". |
The Telstra Dome holds many great sporting events here in Melbourne, and looks over towards the Westgate & Bolte bridges as well as the docklands area. More information about the sporting venue can be found here. |

"Werribee Mansion" Friday 7th September 2007 |
"Rail Yards" Tuesday 31st July 2007 |
|
The Werribee park and mansion are found in the Western suburbs of Melbourne, approx 45 minutes from the city. There is also a terrific open range zoo on the adjacent property. The mansion itself has a great history to it, some of which can be found here. There is also a very classy hotel at the rear of the mansion which includes a day spa. Information about this retreat can be found here. Earlier in the year I displayed many shots of the Helen lempriere sculpture award which is held in the grounds of this mansion. See the sculptures here. |

"NGV" Friday 6th July 2007 |
"Victorian Arts Centre" Tuesday 3rd July 2007 |
The rear entrance to the Scienceworks museum in Spotswood. (Not far from being under the Westgate bridge). Not science as we used to know it, but far more interactive and interesting for kids and adults alike. Various exhibitions are held throughout the year, both permanent and temporary. It also houses the Planetarium, where many groups are entertained with stories of the stars. I once caught a ferry from the city into the planetarium. |

Another shot of the Victorian arts Centre with Hamer hall in the foreground, and the spire above the theatres building in the background. |

"Stony Creek Backwash" Friday 21st June 2007 |
"Need a lift?" Monday 18th June 2007 |
"Flinders Street Station" Monday 7th May 2007 |
Under the Westagte bridge in Yarraville/Spotswood is the Stony Creek Backwash. The creek runs through the Western suburbs up to St Albans, and enters the yarra here at the mouth of Port Phillip Bay. |
Fancy designs fill the walls in the very classy shops at the old Melbourne GPO. |
Well every man and his dog have taken this shot, but how can I present a photoblog of Melbourne without it. Situated on the corner of Flinders Street and Swanston Street in Melbourne is Flinders Street Station. A very common meeting place for many as they 'meet under the clocks'. Behind me is St. Pauls cathedral and on the corner across to the left is Federation Square. |

"Brighton Bathing Boxes" Wednesday 28th March 2007 |
This is the lounge attached to the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), found inside Federation square. You can relax here with a coffee and cake after visitig the cinema. The angles of the seats, wall fittings and lights match the exterior of Federation Square, some of which you can see here at my post of 20th March 2007. |
The National Gallery Of Victoria, this time inside the main foyer area, leading off into all the different exhibits. |
Five of the many bathing boxes found at Brighton Beach here in Melbourne. |

"Beacon Cove" Sunday 25th Februay 2007
|
The lovely Webb bridge from Yarra's Edge, Docklands, Melbourne. |
Inside the National Gallery of Victoria, is this aptly named 'Great Hall'. Many functions and meetings are held here below the wonderous stained glass ceiling. People often lie on the floor and stare upwards taking it all in. Information about the evnues at the National Gallery can be found at there website here. |
Beacon Cove, Port Melbourne. New modern apartment buildings. |
