"Large"
This is my shot for the current 'Photo Friday' theme; Large. It shows the sheer size of the Westgate bridge which connects the Western suburbs of Melbourne with the city. It has been created so large so as to allow container ships to pass underneath into the ports of Melbourne. Here is another shot of the bridge, and another here.
|
"Amber"
This is my shot for the current 'Photo Friday' theme; Amber. Shot down the outside corridors of the Melbourne GPO in the city.
|
"Smoke"
This is my shot for the current 'Photo Friday' theme; smoke, or in my case - 'no smoke! From the Victorian Arts Centre car park.

"Relaxation"
This is my shot for the current 'Photo Friday' theme; relaxation. It shows people relaxing in front of a band on the Victorian Arts Centre lawn at sunset.
|
"Growth" This is my shot for the current 'Photo Friday' theme; Growth. It is a close up of new growth on a young Frangipani tree. They have beautiful delicate flowers which smell terrific. Being in Melbourne it is a struggle to keep them looking good, but many people do well, although Queenslanders have a far better time of it. |
"Heat" This is my shot for the current 'Photo Friday' theme; Heat. It is a shot of one of several fire towers located outside the Crown Casino here in Melbourne. They are lit on the hour automatically every evening. |

"Alone" This is my shot for the current 'Photo Friday' theme; Alone. David Hicks has been kept in Guantanamo Bay for 5 long years, and let's get this straight, he has not been charged, and he has not had a trial. Two of the five years has been in solitary confinement. How alone he must feel. Apparently John Howard our Prime Minister could get him out with a single phone call, perhaps he's waiting for just before the election! BRING DAVID HICKS HOME! |
"Stillness"
I have shown a wider shot of this lovely river previously on my 'landscapes' page. This closer shot, taken at the same time shows the lovely stillness of the water creating wonderful reflections. For the Photo Friday 'stillness' theme day.
|
"Immature" This is a young fern leaf opening up toward the sun, posted for this weeks 'photo friday' theme of 'immature'. |

"Evil" This weeks photo friday theme is evil. |
"Gross"
Now I love Vegemite, but I know a lot of overseas people do not, in fact they think it's gross! Guess it's an aussie thing. This weeks photo friday theme is gross.
|
"Light"
Todays photo Friday theme is 'light'. My shot is a close up of the 'Silence' sculpture in the docklands. It was created by Adrian Mauriks in 2002. You can see more of the sculpture at my post of 29th August 2006 at my "Sculpture and Art' page. They are illuminated at night and look spectacular against the dark sky.

"Accidental"
The Victorian Arts Centre Spire can be seen clearly in my photo of 16th August 2006 (Places), this one was accidental as I zoomed whilst taking the shot, and therefore fits into the Photo Friday 'Accidental' theme well. I actually love the effect with the streaking lights. Information about the Victorian Arts Centre can be found here.

"Innocence"
Our dog Molly looks so innocent whenever you say "Did you do that?" Usually she get's in trouble for chewing the kids favourite toys! Molly is a schnoodle (Schnauzer cross poodle).
|
"Destruction"
Photo Friday theme today is 'destruction'. Say goodbye to the sand castle!

"Thin"
This is my entry in the Photo Friday theme day for this week, which is themed 'Thin'. These tiny thin flowers were found in a greenhouse section at the Cranbourne Boatnical Gardens. I'm afraid I don't know the type of plant, but each flower head here was only about 5cm high at this point. They remind me of someone trying to create a shadow puppet of a dog with their hand!
|
"Anger"
This piece of street art has appeared around Melbourne in different loactions. It is a screen print on paper which has been pasted on various bridge structures and the like. It fits in well for the current Photo Friday theme of 'anger'. |
"Girl"
This is my entry in the Photo Friday theme day for this week, which is themed 'Girl'. Taken at Heide park, Heidleberg. |

"Bright"
The theme today of Photo Friday is 'bright'. This shot is of some moored boats in the bay just off the Williamstown foreshore. The boat at the front is for hire, and I must use it one day to get some photos with some different perspective. |
"Boy"
A solemn moment for a small boy. The Red stairs is actually the back of an entrance to an underground car park. This side is basically some seating, but looks a bit like an ampitheatre. The boy is about 50 metres away from me. I have shot through a hole of a small decorative steel piece which is a little like something you might tie a boat to. A man walked past as I took it and said (in a very aussie accent) "Taking a picture of a hole mate?!!!!" |
"Silver"
This is a shot of a silvery steel sculpture by Mikala Dwyer (thanks to Kass). It is located in the Docklands region of Melbourne and simply seems to state I O U. The reflections at night and during the day are superb. You can see a night shot on my sculpture page. This photo was taken just this morning. |
